  • EZVIZ Smart Home Camera Wins 2020 Good Design Award (G Mark) in Japan
  • Its C8PF Dual-lens Outdoor Pan-Tilt-Zoom Camera from its newly launched C8 lineup has won the Good Design Award 2020.
  • October 2, 2020 – EZVIZ, a global-leading smart home company, announced that its C8PF Dual-lens Outdoor Pan-Tilt-Zoom Camera from its newly launched C8 lineup has won the "Good Design Award 2020." Presented by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP), the award is one of the four most-renowned international design awards, with about 5,000 entries submitted from all over the world each year.

Established in 1957, the award recognizes various tangible and intangible products and items that demonstrate exceptional engineering to fulfill a purpose. Companies and designers from both inside and outside of Japan participate in the competition to enhance the quality of human life through design. G Mark, the symbol of the award, has been recognized widely as an icon of good design.

With auto zoom and smart tracking, the C8PF camera automatically zooms in on and follows moving subjects and alerts users to the incident in real-time, offering state-of-the-art protection. Displaying both the panoramic view, recorded with the 2.8 mm lens, and the close-up view, recorded by the 12 mm lens in the same window, the camera gives users a wide, clear picture.

Compared against conventional PTZ cameras, the C8PF camera’s lightweight design makes it a great fit for homes that need an extra eye in the courtyard, backyard, front door, etc. The camera’s friendly, contemporary design evades the sense of surveillance and intrusion often posed by the larger, more imposing security cameras of the past.

“We're thrilled that the C8PF from our C8 series has been awarded a Good Design Award,” said Mr. Zhu, head of EZVIZ’s Industrial Design team. “EZVIZ is committed to providing innovative and intuitive smart home products and applications that enable customers to see, capture, share, and protect what’s valuable to them. This award inspires us to keep up the good work and offer more intelligent and easy-to-use products, like the C8PF camera, to empower our customers to live a safe, convenient, and smart life.”

With over seven years of technical experience and expertise in the smart home domain, EZVIZ has been recognized by other prestigious awards, including the CES Innovation Awards, the iF Design Award, and the RedDot Award. Winning the Good Design Award marks another milestone for EZVIZ.

The company also plans to debut its very first outdoor PT camera from this C8 camera range later this year – the EZVIZ C8C Outdoor Wi-Fi Pan-Tilt Camera with color night vision and AI-Powered person detection. The EZVIZ C8C combines an exquisite appearance and comprehensive functionality and is designed for homes and small businesses.
